I take your privacy seriously. This notice explains how I collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in line with UK GDPR and the guidance of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Who I Am
I am Julia Jessop, a sole practitioner offering counselling and holistic therapy under the trading names Rebalance Withinand Rebalance Holistic Therapy. I am registered with the ICO as a data controller.

What I Collect
Depending on our work together, I may collect: your name, contact details, date of birth, emergency contact and GP details, relevant health or wellbeing information, session notes, communication records, and payment or invoicing information.

How I Collect Your Data
Data is collected via email, phone, contact forms, during sessions, or through your use of my website.

Why I Collect It
I collect your data to:
– Provide counselling and/or massage services (contract basis)
– Maintain records in line with ethical and insurance requirements (legitimate interest)
– Process health-related data with your explicit consent
– Comply with legal requirements (e.g. safeguarding)

How It’s Stored
Your notes are stored securely, either password-protected on an encrypted device or locked away physically. Contact details may be stored on an encrypted mobile phone for communication purposes only. Emails are encrypted and managed in line with GDPR. I never share your data unless legally required to do so.

How Long I Keep It
Client records are stored for up to 7 years after our final session (or until age 25 if under 18). Contact information is deleted when no longer needed. Emails are retained temporarily for administration, then deleted securely.

Your Rights
You have the right to:
– Access the information I hold
– Request corrections
– Ask for your data to be deleted (where legally permitted)
– Withdraw consent for processing (where applicable)
– Complain to the ICO if you have concerns: www.ico.org.uk
